I’m an Assistant Professor in Communication at Regis University, where I teach media theory and practice. Before coming to Regis, I was a grad student and then visiting lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh. My research focuses on questions of technology, embodiment, and infrastructure, and I’m particularly interested in how digital technology is (and isn’t) enabling new forms of communication in historically marginalized communities. My work has appeared in Participations and Transformative Works and Cultures, and I’m currently at work on a book project called “Corporeal Networks: Identity, Body, and Digital Media.”
Outside academia, languages are my great love. I can watch in three and read in six, and there’s a long list of others that I’ve started and hope to get back to someday.
